Rapé - Sacred Snuff Tobacco
in the shamanic traditions of South America
It helps to maintain a balance of spiritual and material, to live in harmony with ourselves and the world around us.
Rapé complements and enhances the elaboration of individual direction in the retreat.
What is Rapé?
Rapé (rapeh) is a special mixture of shamanic plants from the Amazon jungle, ground into a fine powder. The term “rapé” translates to “dust of the ancients” or “divine snuff” in the indigenous languages of the Amazon.
The main ingredient in rapé is the sacred snuff of mapacho (Nicotiana rustica).
Rapé recipes may vary among different tribes and shamans, each with their own unique blend of plants and tobacco. Some common ingredients used in rapeh include tree barks, leaves, seeds, and ashes of certain plants known for their medicinal properties.
Rapeh is:
%
cleansing
%
balance
%
renewal
Mapacho is one of the most powerful healing plants of the rainforest, along with ayahuasca. In rapé blends, mapacho is always the “main” ingredient, setting the direction for the work, while other plants support and complement it.
In retreats we use both traditional rapé of Brazilian tribes and our own compositions, depending on the goals
Individual selection of rapé composition allows you to balance your energy and reveal the direction you need

cleanses after “toxic” situations or relationships
helps to change thinking patterns, get rid of addictions
helps to get out of the vicious circle and “Groundhog Day”
clears sinuses and throat of pathogenic mucus and bacteria
cleanses consciousness, helps to achieve states of “here and now”
provides vision and inner guidance in situations and processes
How is the rapé ceremony performed?
In the rapé ceremony, it is usually administered through a special tube called a “kuripe” or “teepee”.
Traditionally, rapé is blown into each nostril in turn.
The impact of rapé in the area of the 3rd eye helps to stop the internal dialogue.
Blowing rapé into each nostril balances the hemispheres of the brain, bringing into balance the masculine and feminine principles, Yin and Yang.
Each blowing is symbolic. Blowing into the left nostril symbolizes death or what one would like to let go of, and blowing through the right nostril symbolizes rebirth or what one would like to let into one’s life.
During the blowing, the recipient needs to make a slight throat lock and hold his breath to prevent the powder from getting into the throat and bronchi.
How to prepare for the rapé blowing ceremony
Think in advance about your intention to practice.
To get the best results from practice before the rapé ceremony, it is advisable NOT to eat heavy food for 2-3 hours, not to drink coffee or energy drinks.
It is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol the day before and after practice. For the best effect, your consciousness should be as pure as possible!
Using rapé will give you a powerful impetus to discover your own resource and reach a new level. Before starting the procedure of inhaling the mixture, you can set an intention that will certainly come true.
What does science say about rapé?
Scientific research on Rapé shows that it has stimulating and focusing effects, increasing the production of key hormones in the body such as adrenaline and dopamine.
Although scientists have not yet fully studied the healing properties of Rapé, some sources claim that it decalcifies the pineal gland and stimulates the production of Dimethyltryptamine, one of the important neurotransmitters of the brain, better known as the “Spirit molecule.”
Historical significance and legends
Rapé occupies an important place in the culture of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon. For centuries it has been used by tribes such as the Yawanawa, Katukina and Nukini as a sacred instrument for spiritual practices and healing rituals.
Legends associated with rapé describe its origins as a gift from the Spirits, who taught shamans how to prepare and use it to connect people to the divine realm and higher consciousness.

What are the consequences of rapé?
Mind
Traditionally, the Rapé ceremony is performed to restore energy channels and strengthen connections with the world and the Universe. It clears the mind from worries, anxiety, and stress. It helps you hear yourself and feel your inner world. Rapé stops internal dialogue, promotes better concentration and mental clarity, and opens up all the headspace for your intentions so you can see beyond your mental interpretations.
Body
Rape promotes detoxification of the body, clears mucus from the sinuses, destroys viruses and harmful bacteria, stimulates the immune system, and is used as a preventive measure against flu and colds. Rape triggers cleansing processes in the body and has a calming, balancing effect on emotions. Shamans believe that Rapé eliminates headaches, confusion and dizziness because it reduces intracranial pressure.
Spirit
After taking Rapeh, the cleansing and alignment of all our energy centers begins, especially the sixth chakra (“Third Eye”) and the crown chakra (top of the head). The natural ingredients contained in Rapé help eliminate energy parasites, pollution and interference with internal dialogue. Rapeh relieves stress and fatigue, cleanses the cerebral hemispheres and activates the pineal gland. It renews physical and spiritual energy, increases focus and concentration.
The individual format of the retreat allows you to most fully reveal the changes achieved in the process and integrate them into everyday life.
Correctly selected rapé subtly complements the work in the retreat in the required direction.
Reviews about our retreats:
I’m already at home, learning to apply the knowledge I’ve acquired. I enjoy communicating with my children, telling them about the amazing power of nature and the limitless human abilities. I hug my husband much more often than before and mentally tell him how dear he is to me, realizing that this does not require loud words. I clean my house of all unnecessary things, making way for new energy. I prepare various delicacies for my family with special pleasure, putting into my actions the love that has been revealed in me.
I also thank my fear, which ultimately helped unlock my strength and paved the way to a new world in which my life is just beginning.
I had an incredibly powerful experience that taught me a lot. It’s about my life, my relationships, my goals and my priorities in life. I could see the lies in my head, the way my mind was acting, and how something was telling me that I shouldn’t do certain things in my life. I could see that there were people around me that I didn’t trust, who weren’t telling me the truth about our relationship and about me. I was able to figure it out, not right away, but I did. And it went away naturally because I no longer had to defend my pain. I was able to see all things as they are. And I felt calm
This is a deep feeling of life that you take with you. This is the understanding that you are the creator. That you have a destiny. That you can change the world. That we all have a divine spark within us and we have the power to change the world. The ability to change the world means we don’t have to wait for someone else to come along and do it.
Words can’t truly describe the transformational experience I had there – but its been almost a year later and I am a better, stronger, happier and healthier person because of it. If you’re looking for a sign, this is it. You are capable of healing and the plants will guide you there. Thank you, Home Of Ayahuasca
